Do mobiles actually help babies? 
Nursery mobiles are very beneficial to babies as they help to develop fine motor skills, strengthening muscles and improving hand-eye coordination as babies reach for the dangling toys. Additionally, baby mobiles for cots often feature relaxing, calming and stimulating colours and components cleverly designed to help your little one drift off easily when it comes to nap time. 

Are cot mobiles safe?
If used correctly baby mobiles are safe to use. Ensure that your cot mobile and all of the toys are attached securely with no risk of falling into the crib. Your baby should not be able to reach the cot mobile as they could grab it and pull it down, running the risk of their face being covered or a choking hazard. When choosing a mobile for a nursery, avoid options with long dangling ribbons or other attachments, if you don't have much room between hanger and the top of your cot.

Do I need a cot mobile?
Whilst cot mobiles are not a necessary item, they do provide many benefits for your baby. Nursery mobiles encourage the development of fine motor skills, and help your baby to relax when they need to nap. Additionally, they help your baby to experience the world around them as their vision improves, allowing them to follow toys as they move in front of them.
