When should I start setting up the baby nursery?
The best time to start setting up your nursery is when you've had your 12 week scan. At this stage of your pregnancy you should be able to move around relatively easily, and should be unphased by fatigue and morning sickness. This will also give you lots of time to prepare for the arrival of your little one, without stressing about whether the baby nursery is ready.
What do you need for a baby nursery?
A baby nursery doesn't need to be elaborate, as long as it is comfortable and safe for your little one. We'd recommend investing in a baby nursery furniture set, which often includes a matching cot, wardrobe, and chest of drawers to keep all of your essentials in one place. Beyond this, you might want to add some nursery decor such as soft toys, wall art, and bunting to create a more homely and relaxed feel.
How long should a baby sleep in your bedroom?
Whilst you can introduce your baby to their nursery gradually, you should allow them to sleep in your bedroom for the first 6 months. Whether this be day or night, your baby should be in the same room as you while they sleep for this duration. Until then, you can use your nursery as a play area, decorating it with lots of accessories, plush toys, and musical toys.
