What age should a high chair be used?
Once your little one is able to sit up independently and is starting to eat solid foods, it may be time to begin the transition to a high chair. Typically, this will be when your infant reaches around 6 months of age. A baby high chair is a great way to introduce your child to mealtimes, allowing them to sit around the table with you, and other family members, learning essential social interaction skills along the way while they also start to become more confident eating a larger variety of different food groups.
What type of high chair is best for baby?
There are many different styles and brands of high chairs on the market, but it's important to do your research to find the best option for you and your little one. With that being said, general features to look for in an infant high chair include good seat padding to ensure it's comfortable for your little one, a secure safety harness that will keep them in place (whether they are moving around or sitting still!) as well as one that has a sturdy build, is easy to assemble and can be easily stored away at the end of meals. We also recommend making sure you invest in a trustworthy brand, such as Maxi Cosi, Joie and Mima. At Direct4Baby, we stock some of the best high chairs that are trusted by parents, so browse the range and find one to meet your mealtime requirements.
