Should I put an insert in my baby's car seat?
If you're investing in a newborn baby car seat, chances are your car seat will include newborn inserts as part of the bundle offered. However, if this isn't a given, yes, parent should invest in a supportive newborn insert. However, it's important to ensure parents do enough research to ensure the insert is compatible with the type of seat they currently have, as there's a whole breadth of different car seat models and manufacturers to choose from. Car seat inserts for babies are important, as they are also used to ensure your baby's head is in a supported position which prevents slumping forward which could cause them pain.
How do I keep my baby from getting sun in the car seat?
There are two ways to keep the sun from affecting your baby while travelling in their car seat. The first way is through using a window shade, these are usually black mesh panels that stick to the back windows of your car to block out any sun from getting in your babies eyes or making them too hot. The alternative way is to attach a sun shade to the car seat itself - these come in many different colours and designs and safely keep the sun from getting on your child both in and out of the car.
Is it safe to use car seat without ISOFIX?
Using an ISOFIX base is both the safest and fastest way to secure your car seat, however, car seats may be fitted in other ways if an ISOFIX base is not available to you. With many baby car seat moels, it is safe to attach your car seat simply using the car seat belt and correctly looping it through the designated parts of the car seat to secure it tightly to the seat. However, we would always recommend double-checking with your seat requirements to ensure you have the absolute correct fitting preferences for your seat model. Here at Direct4Baby, we have a wide variety of ISOFIX bases and car seats with ISOFIX that are available to you to ensure a safe journey for all.
