Baby Jogger launch New & Improved City Tour 2 Stroller
We love the original Baby Jogger City Tour Stroller here at Direct4baby, as do our customers. It’s lightweight, has a compact fold and looks great too. It’s perfect for holidays, travel or just if you need a buggy that is easy to store in a small space. Now Baby Jogger are launching the City Tour 2and City Tour 2 Double both pushchairs will be available to purchase from early August. We are taking pre-orders now so you can be the first of your friends so show off these fantastic new products!
What are the differences between the City Tour and City Tour 2?
There has not been a complete overhaul of the City Tour 2 stroller, but there are some fantastic new and improved features that were not on the original pushchair. The main ones being that it can now be used from birth, it is car seat compatible, there is a one hand fold, a deeper seat, an adjustable leg rest and the folded dimensions are smaller than before. It can also now be used up to 22kg rather than 15kg like the original pushchair. Let’s look at these in a little more detail.
The Baby Jogger City Tour 2 is now suitable from birth
The seat unit of the City Tour 2 has been improved so that it now reclines to a near flat position making it suitable for newborns. Although we would recommend that a head support or liner is used for tiny babies. There is another major improvement for the parents of newborns, there is a matching City Tour carrycot available to purchase separately. Simply recline the seat, add car seat adaptors and the carrycot clips on. Perfect if you want to use the City Tour 2 for longer periods.
The City Tour is car seat compatible
You will be able to add a Group 0+ infant carrier to the pushchair turning it into a complete travel system. The car seat adaptors will be available to purchase separately. For now the only car seats that are compatible are the Baby Jogger City Go and GracoClick Connectbut we are sure more brands will soon be added to that list.
One hand fold
Many parents found the two hand fold on the original Baby Jogger City Tour tricky when also having to hold onto a child, bags and so on. Baby Jogger have rectified this by improving the mechanism so only one hand is now required, rather like the City Tour LUX fold. The folded pushchair is now smaller, measuring 60 x 49.5 x 19cm. Ideal for small boots, hallway storage or the overhead compartment of a plane or train.
Deeper seat and adjustable foot rest for your child’s comfort
The City Tour 2 Double has all the features of the single buggy but is ideal for twins or siblings close in age. It measures 66.5 x 61 x 25cm when folded making it the narrowest double pushchair Baby Jogger have developed. Weighing only 9.9kg it is lightweight too. Add a carrycot or two to make it more comfortable to use from birth, although the seats do recline to near flat. Each seat unit can carry up to 15kg (approx. 3 years). The NEW baby Jogger City Tour 2 Double will be available in 2 colours, Jet Black and Seacrest Blue, with a recommended retail price of £449.
